A little late on this one but wanted to share this sweet couple’s sunflower session from July. They braved the early morning hours for the best lighting and perky sunflowers. We nailed it and I couldn’t ask for much more.
Kristy & Tristan met goin to UNCW. They’re young, active and love doing everything outdoors.
Most recently, they even got a puppy together, a baby Yorkie named Archie. Stay tuned for some sweet puppy pics!
Jnnifer & Dylan had a beautiful wedding day from start to finish. They had a classic Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Gabriel’s church and an energetic, fun reception at the Terrace at Cedar Hill in Charlotte.
HOH arrived to start our day at the Residence Inn uptown Charlotte. Details are definitely one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. So much work goes into planning every last detail of the wedding day, so I want my couples to have portraits of their details to look back on and remember forever.
The hustle and bustle of wedding day can be super overwhelming, so another favorite moment of mine is putting on the dress. I usually have the bridesmaids clear out of the room to give us space, plus it gives the bride a quiet moment with her mom and sisters.
I haven’t had a whole lot of First Looks this season so when I get one, I get a little giddy inside. Jenifer & Dylan’s did not disappoint.
Doing a First Look before the ceremony allows us more time to do formal portraits before the ceremony so that the bride & groom can have more fun at the reception.
First Looks aren’t just for bride and grooms, often times we set up a First Look between the bride and her dad as well.
The Catholic ceremony was beautiful and serene. I love all the rituals and traditions involved with a church wedding.
Jenifer & Dylan’s reception venue used to be called Roof with a View and we have photographed there many times but now it is the new and improved Terrace at Cedar Hill. This venue has the most amazing city views yet has the added benefit of a private parking lot.
The ceremony was beautiful, the party was all the rage and their exit was just as exiting. Thanks for letting HOH be a part of your wedding day Jenifer & Dylan!

Natalie had such a gorgeous bridal luncheon the day before her wedding at Myers Park Country Club. Since their rehearsal dinner was later that evening they opted for a light salmon salad with bottomless mimosas for lunch. It was a great time for all of Natalie’s closest gal pals to get together and celebrate her one last time, showering her with love and encouragement before her big day.
Any reason to have cake is a good reason for me! Natalie’s grandmother also brought her one last gift before the big day, a precious set of pearls!
On the wedding day there is so much hustle and bustle that it’s hard to actually enjoy the company of your guests while trying to stick to a rigid timeline. I highly suggest having a bridal luncheon with all of your favorite people before your wedding day not only for them to celebrate you and give you their words of wisdom about marriage and love but more importantly so you can let them know how much their presence means to you!

Who likes to receive mail? This girl! Joe from Bridesmaid Gifts Boutique sent me over this adorable package that I couldn't wait to rip into. It was an adorably monogrammed box full of goodies.

Exactly one year ago today, Brandon proposed to Kaitlyn with an adorable golden doodle puppy! Oh course, you remember that session because it went viral! Well their love is stronger than ever. The sweet couple met me out at the sunflower fields for some engagement pictures last month and I've been dying to share.
Sunflowers are Kaitlyn's favorite flower, and Brandon even gave her a bouquet of them when he proposed. So naturally, the two of them in the sunflower fields for engagement portraits brings it all full circle.
They were troopers, meeting me down at the fields at sunrise. One of them may not be a morning person but we made it work.
How stunning is Kaitlyn in her lace romper dress?! I am obsessed. I may or may not have bought one for myself in blush after this session.
Sunflower fields are the perfect setting for engagement portraits but are only in bloom for a very short few weeks. I get so excited when I have a couple that likes to take advantage of the opportunity!
The colors of the fields are so vibrant that solid colors with simple patterns photograph best together. Like Kaitlyn & Brandon, your love and emotion should be the star of the session.
