Last weekend I had the change to capture Karen and Hunter get married at River Hills Country Club on Lake Wylie in South Carolina. It was a beautiful night!
The details were fabulous, especially in the banquet hall with the low sunlight coming in through the windows.

Morgan and Jeremy are young and so in love. Jeremy is in the Air Force and stationed in Colorado. After the wedding, Morgan will be moving to live as a married couple with Jeremy. So for more reasons than usual, this was a very emotional wedding.
Morgan is not only beautiful on the inside, she is gorgeous on the outside!!
Jeremy LOVES his Cheerwine, almost as much as he loves Morgan. Morgan was so sweet and had glass bottled Cheerwine delivered to Jeremy while the boys were getting ready. She had no idea this would lead to two of the groomsmen having red all over their crisp, white shirts.
Jeremy's mom was so excited to see him, even if it was just for the weekend.
I was on groomsmen duty and the boys were saying DONTTTT DO IT! Only joking, of course.
Superheros to the rescue. Don't worry girls, they got your back.
Now onto some feminine touches...and there were a lot of them. The flowers were so beautiful, the lavender complimented the fuchsia perfectly!

The cake was a delicious red velvet.
As most of you know, I am a huge fan of the 'first look'. However, a lot of brides do not want their groom to see them before the wedding. I totally get it. This set up is a great compromise! We place the groom in an area where he can't see the bride, in this case on one side of the vines. Then we bring out the bride, allow them to hold hands, and relax a little together before saying 'i do'. Sometimes they will share a letter or even pray together. This moment is so special because it is all about the couple and produces amazing raw emotions & fabulous photos of course.
The couple had to wait a very long time for this first kiss, the officiant was teasing the couple a little bit to see how long they could hold out. Jeremy took full advantage of the moment when it finally happened!
The day was absolutely beautiful and the sun began setting as soon as the ceremony ended.
Not only are Morgan & Jeremy so cute, their entire wedding party is!
I snuck the new Mr. & Mrs. away for some cuddling in the vineyards.

I was so fortunate to meet Morgan & Jeremy. I wish you both the best as you are whisked away in the convertible Corvette headed to Hawaii! May your future be full of love and compromise.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jess & Dan while photographing their wedding at the Arbors. This wedding was one of my favorites! Everything was perfect, from Jessica's dress to the little details in the reception hall. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I have enjoyed editing!

One of my absolute favorite parts of the ceremony is watching the grooms expression as his bride walks towards him. & this groom was so expressive. <3 so cute!
The formals had to be quick because a storm was rolling in, but it gave us such a beautiful sky for the couple's pictures!

We stopped for a few extra shots at this awesome lake before returning to the cocktail hour, just in time for the reception to start.
& I'm so glad we did because these are some of my favorites from the day.

Earlier this summer I had the chance to capture these two AWESOME people on their wedding day. Summer is, and always has been, my favorite season. I love the fresh feel of spring, and the cool bright nights of fall, but my happy place is the summer sun, and this wedding really felt like summer and sunlight. As the sun got low, and golden, it shined through large windows at City Art Gallery in Columbia, South Carolina just in time for Amanda and Jay's first kiss. This wedding was one of my most favorites, for so many reasons, one of which was the golden sunlight, with a stream of twinkle lights as the ceremony back drop, and another was the fresh smell of art supplies. This venue is an art gallery (with stunning work displayed all around the walls), and in the basement, an art supply store. The smells, and walls, made me feel nostalgic and inspired. Enjoy a little peak into this wedding!

Some of my most favorite bridals...the bar staff cleared the area for us, and we had a blast taking these photos.
I know this blog is mostly about wedding photography and ideas however I wanted to share a family session. Mainly because it was our own lead and associate's family (Janel & Tad)! & Secondly because parents are often stressed out during photo sessions thinking their family is the only crazy and difficult one to shoot. Most photographers only show the polished, finished photos and not the outtakes...
Look at Jack's awkward fake smile...all little kids have them! I do love Miss Molly staring up sweetly at him though. & Tad's natural smile.
