frequently asked questions

Q: WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS’ WORK?

A: With over 12 years experience, Amanda doesn’t simply capture your wedding day. Amanda focuses on the moments and captures emotions. Those are the portraits that you will want to include in your album and print for your walls. Anyone can snap a picture but HOH will guide you into a pose while taking advantage of the best lighting and your favorite angles.

Q: WILL WE GET THE RIGHTS TO OUR PHOTOS AFTER OUR WEDDING?

A: Yes! Upon receiving your images, you will also get a full printing release.

Q: HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL BE THERE AT OUR WEDDING?

A: There will always be two photographers at your wedding in order to get multiple perspectives and extra shots of all of the details.

Q: WILL WE GET FEATURED IN A MAGAZINE OR BLOG?

A: Although many of our sessions do get featured, this is not something that is guaranteed. Most publishers are interested in colorful, uniquely designed weddings! Make sure you have your invitation suite with you on your wedding day for us to photograph if you want the chase of being featured!

Q: ARE THE COUPLES ON YOUR SITE MODELS?

A: While we are lucky enough to work with gorgeous couples, the images shown on our site and blog are of regular, paying clients. Personally, I do not participate in styled sessions because I am lucky enough to have a great variety of clientele and venues on my own.

Q: HOW DO WE RESERVE OUR DATE?

A: We require a 25% deposit and signed contract in order to get your wedding day on our calendar. Six months prior to your wedding, another 25% of the total wedding order is due. Two weeks prior to your wedding, the remainder of the balance is due. Send us an email at info@headoverheelsweddingphotography.com, and we can give you more information on this.

Q: DO I HAVE TO ORDER PRINTS THROUGH YOU?

A: We highly recommend ordering prints through our professional printing lab as that is the only way we can guarantee your products, but it is not required. The difference in quality is HUGE when it comes to ordering through a local printer and a professional lab, so we encourage clients to let us help with prints! The inks and papers at a printing place like Walmart, Target, CVS or even Shutterfly vary greatly and don’t ever measure up to a professional lab with calibrated computers.

Q: WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

A: We use all of the latest Nikon equipment - the Nikon D750s are my personal fav.

For lenses I love primes and have the 50 mm lens, 85 mm lens, 105mm macro lens always in my camera bag. For weddings, I shoot with two camera bodies. I use either a 24-70 mm lens or the 70-200 mm lens on the other camera. I have the newest and greatest SB-5000 as well as a full wheelhouse of studio equipment. All of our pieces have a backup in the rare event that anything should occur to one of our cameras or lenses.
